In order to fully use this site correctly, I would suggest using the links under the sidebar titled "Navigation." Within those links you will find links to all of my posts and they are organized by a category, then within that, each story or idea, then the order I intend them to be read in. So go check those out so that there is less of a chance for confusion! Thanks!

Demon

In book two.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Demon!” my own voice growled ferociously at the image.

It smiled knowingly back at me.

“Oh no. I’m not the demon. Y-”

The image disappeared in a violent crash as every mirror in the room shattered, falling to the floor.

I stood next to the chair breathing quickly, unharmed and untouched by the glass fragments surrounding me.

It was only when there was a shadow over me, did I realize that someone else was now in the room with me.

My hand swung back behind me, but didn’t reach its target as expected.

Donte stood in front of me, his hand around the wrist of my fully-fledged clawed hand.

His scent said more than I wanted him to. I couldn’t look at his eyes, knowing what I’d see there: Disappointment, frustration, and a slight trace of anger.

There was nothing I could say. If he were to ask why…I wouldn’t be able to answer. I didn’t know.

Still holding my wrist, Donte raised my face gently with his other hand under my chin, forcing me to look at him. His eyes were as I thought they would be, but I thought I saw a hint of sympathy in them as he bore into these eyes of a beast.

I could probably never say how he could have affected me so, but after a few seconds the intensity of my sensibility to everything around me began to dim. The claws retreated from my fingertips and I became numb.

Donte took my hand and carefully pulled me over the broken mirrors and out the door.

Never

From what would have been the second book. A tender, but painful moment.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“Why do you think I would do that?” he asked almost sounding angry.

“I don’t know.” I had closed my eyes in frustration and turned away from him.

He grabbed my shoulder, “Look at me.”

When I didn’t face him again he turned me forcefully.

“Nicole, look at me!” he was holding both of my shoulders away.

“I would never do that to you.” He spoke softly and I finally glanced up, his eyes then locking mine in place.

“Understand? Never.”

His eyes were unreadable. I bit my lip and turned away with water in my eyes.

Don't Cry

A little blurb from the second book of a potential battle where Nicole and Donte were on opposite sides. There was a lot I thought about for this story that I never did. So, sorry for this being confusing, but I liked it.

The final bird fell to the ground then disappeared. I walked into the clearing.

-------------------

I pushed him up against a tree, he was clearly surprised by my strength. I had my sword at the ready over my head. The rain covered my face, masking my tears.

“And there wasn’t a single moment that I stopped loving him.”

I thrust my sword into the tree beside his head and back off in surrender.

Even through the rain my face gave me away.

Donte walked toward me and wrapped his arms around me.

“Don’t cry.” Michael said. “Please, don’t cry.”

Heartbreak

This is a segment that I wrote for what would have been the second book of my first version.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In a matter of seconds I had her up against the wall with my knife at her throat. My breath was seething through my clenched teeth.

"Nicole…don’t." Michael said calmly, as if he were talking to someone who had lost their mind, and I wasn’t afraid to admit that I probably had.

I didn’t look at him; I kept my eyes on hers, taking pride in the clear fear behind them.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn’t slit her throat." I replied with venom.

There was silence and her eyes looked to him pleadingly.

I was unmoved.

"I love her."

I felt my face fall; the sound of my own heart stopping was in my head as if a sword had been shoved through it. I didn’t breathe. All I saw was my hand slowly pull the knife from her neck and it falling to the floor. She stayed pinned against the wall panting. I backed away a few steps and then it was all a blur.

I was running to nowhere in particular, just running away from the world that was falling down around me. I didn’t know when I had changed; I was just suddenly on all fours, tail flopping behind me.
